Sea Chapel, a new work by artist Susannah Ray, brings the sea to the viewer and the viewer to the sea. The multipanel installation of abstract ocean views was created from Rockaway Beach images from Ray’s larger body of work To the Sea, To the Sea, To the Sea.

You may meet Ray on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at RISE (Rockaway Initiative for Sustainability and Equity), courtesy of Queen Arts Fund, New York Foundation for the Arts, and New York City Department of Cultural Affairs. A ritual begins at 5:00 p.m. with sound artist Electric Djinn.
