“Sail Away” Kids Play and Workshop

Flushing Town Hall, a Smithsonian affiliate, will present “Sail Away,” an interactive play experience that is specifically designed to engage toddlers aged 18-24 months and their caregivers.
The immersive, kid-centric show theatrically explores a day at the beach with flying seagulls, peek-a-boo sea creatures, toy boats, live music, dancing, and more. Toddlers and their grown-ups are encouraged to be part of the play as actors guide the audience through a joyful exploration of ocean life. “Sail Away” is the newest production by Treehouse Shakers.
After the play, Flushing Town Hall will continue the hands-on experience, offering a Sail Away Workshop led by Treehouse Shakers’ Artistic Director Mara McEwin, who is also the play’s Writer and Director. Participants will create stick puppets from the play, engage in storytelling, nursery rhymes, and kid-friendly songs during the sailing-themed arts workshop.
The play will begin at 10:30 am, with the workshop to follow at 11:30 am.
