Queens Rugby Club (QRC), the reigning EGU D4 Champions, are set to host the first home game of their spring season with an A and B side doubleheader against Gotham Rugby with a Family Day celebration on April 19, 2025 at St. Michael’s Playground in Woodside.

The clubs will face off in back to back matches featuring their starting and developmental sides, offering a comprehensive look at each club’s full program. Refreshments will be available for supporters in attendance and child-friendly games and activities will be planned, as well.

“Doubleheaders like these help to sharpen both our A and B side’s skills, strengthening the overall depth of our club,” said Pete Aragones, Head Coach of Queens Rugby Club. “We’re not just trying to level up our starting side, but also provide real game experience to second team players, many of whom are new to the sport. We’re also watching those second side games closely to identify the players who are ready to make the step up to the starting side.”

Queens Rugby’s Family Day is open to the entire Queens community, who are invited to attend the matches, meet the team, and enjoy a day of fun and camaraderie. Whether you’re new to rugby or a longtime fan, the club welcomes and encourages all to attend.

“A rugby club is more than just a sports team — it’s a community organization,” said Austin McArthur, President of Queens Rugby Club. “Our Family Day especially is a chance to bring our community together and have a great time while also growing the sport of rugby in Queens. All are welcome and we hope to see the sidelines packed with our friends and neighbors.”
