Get a historical look at Black cowboys’ involvement in building the heritage of the old western frontier! The Black, Indigenous and African Cultural Center will present a lecture and demonstration showcasing this topic as part of the Lefrak City Library Community Day and Juneteenth Block Party celebration. Chief Van of the Lenappe Nation will host a session filled with music, dance, and language to share elements of Indigenous culture and display the art of horsemanship, horse culture and animal care. There will also be a variety of cowboy demonstrations that explore different ranch tools and the range of western clothing!
