Grow and Gather Family Gardening Program
Learn how to plant seedlings, directly sow, weed, prune, companion plant, harvest vegetables, dry herbs, and more with Queens County Farm Museum’s in-house Botanist and biology expert, Tess Fleming. Our compost experts and STEM Coordinator will also be onsite for several of these fully outdoor, hands-on, family and friends gardening sessions. All sessions take place in our six Teaching Gardens where we plant and harvest tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, a wide variety of lettuces, kale, broccoli, zucchini, summer squash, sunflowers, strawberries, onions, potatoes, turnips, parsnips, green beans, snap peas, cucamelons, radishes, carrots, watermelon, a large assortment of herbs and spices, and much more! Tastings and recipes are available during some of the sessions.
