Spooky Movies on Wintry Sundays at TV EYE

Dec. 15, 2024 – Feb. 23, various, Jan. 19, various.
$13

Once a month on Sunday evenings in the depths of winter, the Secrets of the Dead Short Horror Film Festival – a tradition among NYC cinefiends for 12 years – will take up a cold and clammy residency at TV Eye, New York City’s hottest rocknroll club. Although Secrets of the Dead always premiers its films in New York City, and usually at Film Noir Cinema, the programs have also been screened in London, Los Angeles, Austin, Lexington, and at the Berkeley Film Festival.  Select films from over the past twelve festivals will be brought to the music maniacs over at TV Eye in Ridgewood, Queens, NYC once a month.

The films, originally submitted through FilmFreeway, come from as far afield as Japan, England, Germany, Los Angeles, and Georgia, as well as local NYC area spookster, Jeffrey Wengrofsky.  Some highlights include: Ilya Polyakov’s Worm on January 19th; and Chris Roe’s A Tale of Two Sisters featuring former adult film star Traci Lords on February 23rd.  All of these will be live, in-person screenings. See website for complete schedule.
