Chinese Foodways Workshop

This year’s annual summer cooking workshop will be presented to you by Dr. Hsing-Lih Chou, Dr. Yi-Nian Lee, together with students from Overseas Chinese University of Taiwan.

This interactive workshop will first introduce you to a famous dish from Taiwan- Fried Vermicelli. Taiwanese-style Vermicelli is a special noodle similar to angel hair. We’ll cook it with sesame oil and add in some crunchy cabbage. It’s a well-known dish, especially good in summertime.  The second dish is fried dumpling. Most Americans are familiar with the wonderful taste of dumplings, so this time we will show you how to make this famous Asian dish. It’s simple but extremely delicious, yet not difficult to prepare. It’s crunchy outside but tastes tender and juicy.
